Got approved for the adsense program? Great! Now its time for you to create your first ad unit.

Login

Login to your account ( www.google.com/adsense ). Now click on adsense setup, which is beside reports on top. Go to Adsense for content. Confirm “Ad unit” is selected. Now click on continue.

Customize Ad Unit

Now choose to add format from the drop down menu. Consider choosing the larger ad units, As they tend to perform best. Best in the sense they get more clicks than other ad units. Select color style. You can choose default color style they also tend to perform best. If the default color scheme doesn’t match with your website theme then you can add your own color. To get more precise color code use color picker software. Search Google there are many. Once you have decided color scheme click continue.

Ad Channel and Naming

Next, you’ll need to add channels to your ad unit. Channels help you track the effectiveness of your ads. Next name the ad unit and click submit to get the code. Now Place the ad code where you want ads to get displayed.

Quick Tip: Google Ads will start appearing on your website only when the adsense spiders have crawled your site. Google search engine spiders and adsense spiders are both different. Once it is crawled Google ads will start appearing on your website.
